Landscape Design Remodel

After a sizable addition to the existing home footprint, Birch Hill needed a landscape deserving and complimentary of those efforts. The clients requested a new front lawn, additional parking, and an outdoor space that included a hot tub and fire pit. The biggest challenge to expanded parking was a constrictive abutting property line and the town’s setback requirements. In order to be sure of town and neighborly compliance, we commissioned Gilson Land Surveying to survey the property. A new front lawn that previously existed as parking space transitioned to a green zone the clients could enjoy with their family and friends. The previous parking space in the front yard shifted from permanent landscape element to overflow parking. The back yard landscape involved a wait-and-see approach due to the protruding ledge. After jack-hammering, it was determined that the ledge would not be a design nuisance and concrete footings were poured.
